QUESTION: which words used in #infosec do you consider to be "marketing words" and therefore meaningless when describing a tool or product?
I'll go first: "hyper-" I have no idea what it refers to except "better than whatever it's attached to."

Anti-marketing marketer here (ask if you’re curious)
Completely agree with hacker-proof and most of the suggestions in this thread especially the word salad (just say what it does damn it) but I question “solution”. A solution solves a problem. If we offer that, why not say it?

I mean it depends how you classify AI, but AI doesn't mean what I think most people think it means
I mean if we'd created actual evolutionary algorithmic sentience in the true sense, it wouldn't be under anyone's control
Also, Cloud! Oh Cloud
Hosted != Cloud

This. 'Cloud' is always used in the weirdest spots.

You can *feel* when AWS has outages as you browse the internet. For example, I just tried to make a meme about this AWS outage and the MEME GENERATOR WEBSITE I WAS ON USES AWS so I couldn't make it.

NEW: Kamala Harris is 100% right about Bluetooth. It is not worth the risk for her.
She isn't "Bluetooth-phobic," she understands her threat model and is acting accordingly.

She’s the Vice President, it’s not paranoid at all to worry about an extremely vulnerable wireless protocol?

NEW: Kamala Harris has long felt that Bluetooth headphones are a security risk.
So, she insists on using wired ones, 3 fmr campaign aides told @rubycramer and me.
That Bluetooth phobia remains (if you look closely, you'll see the clump of wires in hand)

Them: You must have all of this cool tech stuff, no?
Me: No.
Them: Why not?
Me: Because the first thing a hacker like me does when they get new tech is figure out all the ways it can screw us over and DISABLE them. This is work for me, not fun. New does not equal secure.

Husband: What are you still doing awake?
Me: *laugh crying* this is literally the funniest video I've seen in awhile.
Husband: ....go to bed.

I ended up getting job offers from both companies. The second offer was out of this world and I'VE ACCEPTED.
Will share more as things happen but for now, pinch me.
And to my husband and kids: We did it, babies!!

It was 2°F when I woke up this morning. Put on makeup and work clothes for one meeting but this is how I'll be spending the rest of the work day. Comfy sweats, on my comfy couch with a cup of . I will not be doing video on today's calls folks.

Bluetooth is, in fact, a security risk. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

When I hear guys say that women only go out with them for free food, that’s how I know they’re not dating in their appropriate age range

VP Kamala Harris is absolutely right that using Bluetooth isn't a risk worth taking, given that she is quite literally one of the most important politicians on Earth.

Can we stop acting like Harris is some sort of weirdo because she likes premium cookware and practices good OpSec? Some of youse are just tryna find things to drag her when you oughta be learning from her. SMDH.
